Headshot John Christopherson, Minnesota Hearing Instrument Dispenser #2848 wearing a suite and tie.

John Christopherson, HIS

Background

John Christopherson grew up in the Moorhead, Minnesota area. After  graduation John headed off to the United States Marine Corps where he  worked on CH53 helicopters. After leaving the USMC, John headed back  home where he found himself working in aviation again- this time in  emergency medical helicopters. He also missed the military life so  decided to join the North Dakota Air National Guard. Today John and his  wife Gina have a family with a total of four young men, one young lady,  and three furry family members. John and his family reside on Little  Oscar Lake outside Alexandria.

On Career Changes

After 31 years working on helicopters, John decided it was time to  leave aviation . His desire to help people led him to hearing care.  After almost a year of studying and training in a hands on capacity,  John passed his International Hearing Society written test and his State  of Minnesota Certification practical exam. He is now a certified hearing instrument dispenser in the state of Minnesota. His certificate  number is 2848. He enjoys working with patients who are desiring  improvement in their hearing through professional hearing care with a  great fitting pair of hearing aids.

Why hearing?

What does John love about his career? Being excited to see people’s  reactions to their new improved hearing brings him great pleasure.  Helping them in hearing their spouses, friends, and grandchildren with  properly fitted hearing aids brings him great satisfaction. Seeing  excited eyes, the occasional tear, and the changes in connecting  generations with conversations makes this new adventure worth while!  John loves working with staff to help our patients in Alexandria,  Morris, Fergus Falls, Wadena, Brandon, Evansville, and Parkers Prairie areas. John’s  MN HID Certificate is #2848.

Gina Christopherson, Manger

Background

Born and raised in Granite Falls, MN Gina grew up to study at the University of Minnesota Morris where she earned her Bachelor of the Arts with emphasis in music performance. She went on to earn her teaching license at Southwest Minnesota State University. After 20 years in the classroom it was time for a change. She photographed for a couple of years and then Legacy Hearing Centers was born. Off on a new adventure we headed!

In Gina's spare time she enjoys photographing, crocheting, playing with puppies, and doing home improvement projects with John. Our children are all grown and on their own, so conversations with them are also top of the list!

Continuing Education!

In 2024 Gina applied for and was accepted to the SBA's THRIVE program focusing on business development. It was an exciting program and brought about some internal changes for our business. More recently Gina was honored to have the ability to participate in Goldman Sachs Foundation's 10kSB program. This program focused on advancing the understanding of business and finance for future growth. It was an eyeopener which brought on better insight to our future growth.

To The Future!

After some deep thought and prayer, Gina has decided to move forward with working on achieving attaining her certificate to practice as a Hearing Instrument Dispenser. Let the studying begin!

Toy Poodle Remington standing on a black chair with red hearts.

Remington (Greeter)

Background

Remington, aka “Remmy”, was born in December 2020 just outside  Alexandria. He is a toy poodle. He is hypoallergenic as he doesn’t have  fur- he has hair. Remmy was carefully selected for his temperament and  personality to fit into our busy office.

On Greeting People!
Remmy loves greeting people at the door and inviting them in. Fear not,  his bark is way larger than his physical stature! Remmy loves having  people play fetch with him as well as sniffing their feet. He loves cuddling with our visitors and is known to occupy a chair too!

If you prefer that Remmy not visit with you during your visit to our  office no problem! Just ask Gina to pop him into her office. He has plenty of toys and fun in there as well!

Remmy’s Bell

Remmy is really great with ringing his bell to go outside for a potty break. So if Gina is missing from the desk she will return shortly. Remington’s got to have a break when he needs it! 🙂

Portuguese Water Dog puppy, Lyndy, sitting on a wooden rocking chair.

Lyndy (Greeter)

Background

Lyndy Joy, aka LJ, came to us from Apple Creek, Ohio! She is a Portuguese Water Dog born in Feburary 2023. She has a little more stature than her big brother Remington, but has a sweet disposition.

On Greeting People!

Lyndy  is sure to let her momma know that someone is here. She does have a big bark, but she prefers to stand back and watch people rather than rushing to greet them.  She wants to be sure you are friend... not foe. As with Remington if you prefer Lyndy can spend a little kennel or leash time with momma in her office, just let us know. No offense taken.

On Break time!

While Remmy has mastered the art of ringing his bell, Lyndy prefers  letting herself out to potty after learning how to open the door. Gina may be off attempting to retrieve the water dog from the pond! Fear not  she will return shortly.
