Awhile back a lovely organist called to tell us there was something wrong with her hearing aids. When she was playing in church an Eb kept disappearing when she was playing hymns. She could play a scale and that particular Eb would be missing. She knew this was not right so she called about finding how to fix the issues. This issue got us thinking... how can we make things better for musicians.
Anyone who plays an instrument knows that performing is very different from being a part of the audience. As a former music teacher and a lifelong performer, Gina knows exactly how important it is to be able to hear without damaging your hearing on stage. Thus The Experience Center at LHC was born. Gina's instrument collection from her teaching years came back out of the closet at home and into the office. The Experience Center features a 100 year old baby grand piano (maintained by Brayden Drevlow), violin, cello, guitars- acoustic and electric, flute, clarinet, trumpet, alto saxophone, trombone, and a bass guitar. Patients are welcome to bring their own instruments as well. We have done set ups for playing for steel guitar, concertina, and even percussion using their instruments.
Our hearing instrument manufacturers reps travel the country checking out practices from coast to coast. They have told us that we are a defintely unique clinic offering this option to our patients. The only place they report seeing something similar was on the West Coast in LA or in Nashville. We are so excited to be able to help our patients this way!
In addition to our music offerings we are set up for the audiophiles as well with a stereo set up and the ability to check out a myriad of TV streaming devices. These allow us to be sure that your music program is set up for YOUR listening enjoyment, not just the way the computer thinks you should experience music. Everyone should experience music as they wish to hear it, not as a computer programs "average" listener set up thinks you should.
To utilize our Experience Center at LHC let us know that you are a musician, music lover, or TV fan at your appointment. We can show you a whole new world! Bring back the conversations, bring back the music, bring back life as you want to live it!
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
